ASSOCIATE DENTIST

With 3-5 years of dentistry to your name, you’re ready for your next career challenge. And you reckon moving to a progressive, friendly, patient-driven regional Queensland practice fits that bill.

Bag this role and you’ll have the chance to deliver our full range of treatments and gain genuine and diverse professional development support, building up your skills faster than you can say, “Open wide please.”

You’ve read our recruitment site, about page and stalked us on LinkedIn, and you feel pretty darn confident about fitting right in. Lovely. Let’s keep moving.

ABOUT US

Keppel Dental opened its doors in 1977 and has been serving the Yeppoon and wider Livingstone Shire community ever since. We’re focused on giving Regional patients a full range of dental treatments on their doorstep. Because,
let’s be honest, having to travel to metro areas all the time can be a real pain in the…
To deliver on our promise of providing great dental care locally, we attract practitioners from across Australia and embrace modern dentistry and process-driven patient care by:

  • Investing in a full on-site lab
  • Having a suite of digital dentistry capabilities assisting us, resulting in  efficient and accurate treatments
  • Being a team full of calm, gentle and understanding oral health  professionals, who are capable, competent, and fun to work with.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We have work. We want you to work. And we’re not shy to hand you a variety of cases.

Being a regional Queensland practice means offering patients a range of treatments under our roof. (And while we’re not ones to boast, we’re pretty much the only practice in the area that does this.)

Delivering everything from restorative treatments to general oral health, full smile makeovers to dental surgeries, it’s rare that your Monday will be the same as your Tuesday, or your Wednesday and Thursday the same as your Friday.
And Saturday and Sunday don’t count because you get. Every. Weekend. Off.

Having the experience and confidence to deliver a range of treatments is a bonus. It means we can fill your books with more varied appointments right away. But this isn’t essential.

If your first few years as a qualified dentist have been carefully managed or limited to certain treatments, then we’re about to blow that out of the water.

Our open door policy actively encourages associates to get involved and learn from the entire team, building their skill scope in the process.

Seriously, working regionally is the quickest way to increase your skills and experience. And with a high patient flow, and systems and processes in place to support that, we’re not spinning a yarn when we say we have the type of work
(and enough of it) to make you a highly proficient dentist.

A BIT ABOUT YOU

A lot of our team describes the Keppel Dental vibe as like having a second family. We’re all a bit different, but we all have each other’s backs and enjoy working together for the benefit of our patients. Ideally, that sounds like your kind of place.

You might also be someone who:

  • Would describe themself as humble and kind
  • Is willing to learn from every member of the team, not just other dentist
  • Considers themselves a good communicator, which benefits patients and colleagues
  • Has a good chairside manner that makes patients of all ages and identities feel comfortable
  • Is full of enthusiasm to come and learn our systems. (We’re quite sure they’re different from what you’ve worked with before.)

In terms of the finer practicalities, you will:

  • Have the right to work in Australia (obvs)
  • Be a qualified dentist with 3-4 years of experience
  • Have full AHPRA registration and professional indemnity insurance (or be able to get both of these things)

AS AN EMPLOYER AND COLLEAGUE WE WILL

  • Make sure you feel included and supported in all areas of your work and your decisions.
  • Give you autonomy when it comes to managing your patients and workload, without fear of having decisions overruled.
  • Give you flexibility to manage your time – we’re not here to dictate how long treatments should take or how many patients you have to see in a day.
  • Offer you a work environment where colleagues value and trust each other.
  • Give you spaces and forums to discuss anything important to you, and feel listened to without shame or judgement.

Being part of Keppel Dental means balancing the ability to work intuitively and independently, with drawing on the strength of the team to achieve the best patient outcomes.
