professional history and training, why they love their job and what makes them smile.
John Christensen BD.Sc
Practice PrincipAL Dentist
John is one half of the reason Keppel Dental is even here. He set up shop in Yeppoon back in 1977 and was the first full-time dentist to establish a private practice in the area. What a trendsetter! John’s especially proud of the relaxed, and genuinely friendly, atmosphere at Keppel Dental. When not swotting up on current dentistry technologies or nerding out over the new possibilities digital dentistry could bring, he enjoys singing with a local choir and attempting to play tennis.
But most of all my grandkids make my heart smile. (PS. Not true about the cats!)
Lyndsey Browne B.Sc (Hons) B.Dent
Lyndsey enjoys the variety that modern dentistry can offer. Not just the techniques and treatments available, but the people she gets to meet too. She’s known for her calm nature, so even the most anxious patient will be able to relax that little easier during an appointment with her. Beyond work, Lyndsey loves to travel around Australia and beyond, and is a keen fitness fan.

Luke Christensen B.Sc (Hons) B.Dent (Hons)
Luke wants your smile to look awesome. A big fan of cosmetic dentistry, Luke embraces the latest technologies that help rebuild natural-looking smiles. He also believes a trip to the dentist should be far from dull. Putting Netflix on the ceiling, so you can watch while in the chair? Yeah, that was his idea. What a genius! Besides dentistry, Luke enjoys surfing (although he says there’s room for his skills to improve) and taking his boat out for a spot of fishing.
Sam enjoys building bridges. Dental bridges that is. His interest is in restorative dental treatments, with his goal being to create the best bridge or crown possible so it blends in perfectly with your natural smile. Beyond work, Sam enjoys playing golf (his current handicap is 27), going for coffee or grabbing a tasty fish and chip supper. Yeppoon is definitely the right place for that.
Dentistry is a wide field with lots of opportunities to specialise, but it’s helping people across a broad spectrum of dental treatments that gives Aleisha the most job satisfaction. So whether you’re seeing her for a general checkup, or you need to book in for emergency treatment to take away the pain you’ve been struggling with, Aleisha has your back. Outside of work she’s crazy active. If she’s not running, she’s keeping fit at a ballet, tap or jazz dance class. And just in case you don’t think she sounds busy enough, she’s also currently learning Italian.
YOUR Oral Hygienist
Oral Health Therapist
Suzan gets a big kick helping patients understand the connection between good oral health and good general health. You may book an appointment with her because you need a deep clean, or to brush up your at-home oral health skills. Besides filling patients with the confidence to take care of their teeth, what Suzan really loves is her new airflow machine. It’s super swish because it uses warm water to give you, the patient, a more comfortable experience. Beyond work, she enjoys getting stuck into a good book, with titles by author Sidney Sheldon being her favourite.
ORAL HEALTH THERAPIST
For Dana, the most rewarding part of her work is getting anxious kids through their treatment. And enjoying the experience! She’s also driven to help people get the smile they’ve always wanted, often sending patients home with a few dental health care tips. Beyond work, Dana enjoys the simple things in life, like early morning yoga, coffee and beach swims, and downtime with loved ones.
ORAL HEALTH THERAPIST
Whether young or old, Christie wants to help you enjoy your dental experience and rinse out any unnecessary fears. What she most loves about working with the team at Keppel Dental is a shared commitment to providing exceptional dental care, education, and support to help patients reach their oral health goals. As there’s lots to enjoy about life in Yeppoon, Christie spends as much downtime as possible with her husband and children exploring the beaches and 4WD tracks.
YOUR DENTAL ASSISTANTS
By her own admission, Maddison (aka Maddy) is a very hands-on and active person. It’s the practical side of assisting the dentists that she enjoys most. While she’s keen, attentive and calm during work, once clocked-off she embraces her spontaneous side. Loving an adventure, it’s not unusual to hear that she spent her weekend whizzing off on a last-minute drive to Five Rocks or Agnes Waters to satisfy her thrill-seeking side.
funny in the smallest of things!
Sterilisation Technician and Dental Assistant
When you need a dental environment that’s free from contamination, who you gonna call? Caiti Steedman! She is the Keppel Dental germ buster. While she doesn’t have a proton pack, she does have other ways to zap pesky germs and keep contamination at bay so dentists and patients can go about their treatment safely. When not fighting germs, you may see Caiti assisting your dentist. Outside of work, Caiti enjoys unwinding by spinning some tunes. She has an eclectic taste, but Ocean Alley tops her charts.
Dental pain is no fun for you and, as an empathetic person, Mia hates seeing you in pain too. Job satisfaction is assisting the dentists to remedy someone’s discomfort so by the time they hop out of the dental chair they’re feeling miles better. For fun, Mia enjoys ocean swimming and gym sessions, followed by coffee dates with close friends and family.
For Ariell, a satisfying work day means running on time and helping to clean and organise the treatment rooms so they’re ready to go for the following day. Taking this approach means she’s prepared for anything, which is handy because the variety of working in a busy dental practice is what keeps her coming back day after day. Beyond work, Ariell enjoys painting and drawing (you’ll have to ask her about her style) and fishing trips with her family.
The most rewarding part of Kim’s work day is when she’s helped ease the nerves of anxious patients and turned their looks of concern into smiles. As a mum, Kim understands how important it is for children to adopt healthy oral hygiene habits, so seeing kids get excited about brushing their teeth is a reason for her to smile, too. When she’s not helping people at Keppel Dental, Kim enjoys building muscle. She’s also a qualified personal trainer helping people to improve their fitness.
What could be better than seeing your patients walk out of Keppel Dental smiling and pain free? Michelle loves being a dental assistant because every day, she gets to educate patients on the importance of good oral hygiene and a healthy diet, and see the results. As a mum of three small children, Michelle has her hands full outside of her work. But she wouldn’t have it any other way.
For Bridie, every day’s a good day when you get to work with a fun and friendly team helping patients smile again. She feels a great sense of accomplishment satisfying every patient’s dental needs in a role where she’s always learning something new and different. As a nature lover, Bridie enjoys ocean swims, camping, and live music festivals listening to her favourite bands.
Kelly feels upbeat seeing happy patient smiles after a positive dental experience with the Keppel Dental Team. That’s because of her patient-first approach to safe and reliable dental care. When Kelly’s not helping people flip their ideas of a ‘dreaded dentist trip’ into ‘that wasn’t so bad,’ she lives an active outdoorsy life, camping and exploring the area.
Maddy prides herself on providing a homely environment for nervous patients and feels a strong sense of accomplishment seeing their confidence lift once dental treatment ends. She loves that her role continuously expands her knowledge and organisation skills. As a self-confessed adventure seeker, Maddy makes the most of her downtime either hiking, relaxing on the beach with her dogs, or going for long drives with the music, up!
You know you’re in the right job when getting up in the morning is a pleasure, not a chore. And that’s the feeling Sophie gets working at Keppel Dental. Sophie finds job satisfaction in helping colleagues to have a smooth-running day because it means the patients have a great day, too. You’ll catch Sophie out walking her dog and enjoying beach swims outside of work and study.
There’s a lot to love about a job where you’re improving people’s health every day. And for Tiahna, she loves everything about the people she works with, learning from technical dental experiences, and meeting the great and good patients who come from Yeppoon and beyond. As an artsy type, Tiahna’s often doing all kinds of art in her downtime… in addition to eating good food and sleeping good sleeps.
YOUR Front of House Staff
Tinkering with the dental software program and troubleshooting are Bronwyn’s specialties. As Practice Coordinator she’s there making sure all the systems for patients and dentists alike, run as they should. During her two decades with Keppel Dental she’s got to know many of the patients really well and enjoys a chat and catch up when you pop in. Beyond Keppel, Bronwyn loves getting out and about on the golf course, or volunteering at North Keppel Island Environmental Education Centre.
Client Care Coordinator
Days at Keppel Dental can be busy. There’s always lots going on, but keeping everything running smoothly for patients and Keppel dentists is what Tracey does best (and she enjoys it!). As Client Care Coordinator Tracey’s your first point of contact. She’s here to make everyone’s life a little easier. Outside of work Tracey loves to cook for family and friends, spending time in the garden and taking her dog for walks on the beach.
As our Keppel Dental receptionist, Robyn is on hand to meet, greet and answer your questions over the phone or when you arrive for your appointment. Robyn understands that for some people a trip to the dentist can be nerve-wracking. Just know that she’s on hand to help you feel comfortable while you wait. When not running the Keppel Dental reception, Robyn enjoys a spot of gardening and spending time with family and friends during get togethers.
