Crown replacement and
covering dark tooth root before and after
The dental problem
Due to receding gums exposing black roots (from an earlier root canal treatment), our patient was unhappy with the look of the crowns on her two front teeth. She also wanted to address the length of her left central incisor which, when she smiled, appeared longer than the other teeth.
The aim of treatment was to correct the front teeth so they naturally blended with her smile.
What we did
By removing the two existing crowns from her front teeth and replacing them with new ones, we successfully covered the dark roots. We also designed the lengths of the teeth to be in keeping with the natural curve of her smile. To complete the treatment, a discoloured filling was replaced on the right lateral incisor.
The result
For the patient, successfully covering the dark roots was paramount. Achieving that, combined with the length and colour of her new crowns, meant she was very happy with treatment and the natural appearance of her new smile.
